HST vehicles at Yarmouth Docks for export to Mexico

I’ve seen pics on Facebook of ex-gwr 43170 and an ex LNER mk3 coach at Great Yarmouth (Docks?)

Anyone happen to know why or what ?

I have seen Mexico mentioned in comments but nothing concrete other than wobble.

Loading started today at Great Yarmouth on to the BBC Arkhangelsk, one photo on Rail Scene facebook which shows a power car being lifted off a lorry and in mid air with a VTEC coach on the lorry behind, one power car and two more coaches can be seen waiting on the dock

I am no lover of HSTs but you have to doff your hat to the engineering and design teams who developed them that after 50 years they are seen as still having a future as far away as Mexico.

We know the numbers of a few of the ex LNER mark 3s on board. From the photo, there is at least one ex FGW, and at least two ex EMT (which themselves are ex GC). I'm try and (and failing) a process of elimination to identify them. Any ideas?

There's a marine equivalent of the likes of FlightRadar24, that allows real time tracking of all ships, so, based on the name mentioned on page one, you should be able to identify its position (currently still Great Yarmouth at time of posting) via:

Only in AIS range. Once it's circa 100miles offshore, it won't be trackable. So you'll have it until its west of Ireland and then as it navigates the Gulf

For the two remaining LNER vehicles, my guess would be 44063 & 44094.

The photos on twitter show 3 x LNER TGS vehicles. With the exception of 44061 (reported above), I believe these were the only two remaining ex LNER TGS vehicles stored at Ely.

If my notes are correct, that leaves 2 x ex LNER Mk3s in store at Ely: 41087 & 40750.

Would be grateful if anyone could confirm!

I bet the stock will arrive in Mexico, be unloaded from the ship, marshalled into a set/s and work fine straightaway.

Meanwhile, back in the UK, new stock lies in sidings for years due to numerous issues which are well documented...
