Air-conditioned BR MK2 spotted in Stafford.

Yesterday, whilst cycling round to my parents' house, I spotted an air-conditioned BR Mk2 on the back of a low-loader stuck in traffic on the A513 eastbound Beaconside Road at around 13:45 hrs.
It was in Anglia livery and looked the worse for wear, having no glazing and graffiti on the sides. Any clue to its identity and to whether it was headed for preservation or scrap?

I now believe that the carriage I saw was on its way to J.Watson Metal Recyclers of Common Road, Stafford, which is first turn right, next turn left from the A513 eastbound. There was an ex-DRS Class 47 (or at least the body shell) in their yard when I cycled past this afternoon.
