I think that may well be a different one. 411 has been at Newton Heath for a couple of weeks now.

I've not long put it into the main shed at NH for DSD mods (about 3am 23/05)
Did it receive it's new colours at Crewe? Can't see any pics of it anywhere since

Have any of the ex EMR/GA units gone through digital mods yet? I know all of the GA units received the trainfx PIS systems pending their transfer to Northern.

Is 411 in Northern livery. Ive lost track of which 156s remain in East Midlands livery.

Yes, with 406 at Crewe now for painting then only ones not yet repainted are 405, 408 & 410, plus 416 & 417 in Wolverton works and 407 in store.

416 & 417 will both be painted and refreshed whilst at Wolverton. 410 will be the next unit through Crewe for repaint once 406 comes out, expected mid-June, and the others will probably follow suit.

Refresh and digital trains is still being talked about (as in who gets the contract) for all units not done (ex-GA and ex-EMR's).

Digital mods not happening "as yet", from what I remember reading.

Is 409 also having the northern interior whilst it's at wolverton?
I doubt it. Nothing else has.

Yes, it is.
Any clue as to where 156438 and 156448 are now in the Wolverton repair queue please? I don't think either have worked for Northern this year as yet? Presumably they need corrosion repairs that are too extensive to be carried out at the home depot?

156438 currently expected out end of June. 156448 currently expected out end of August. And yes, far too extensive for home depot. Plus the Angel 156's are due C6 overhaul at the same time anyway.

A lot of the Angel leased units at Heaton are suffering bad corrosion. I’ve worked a few lately that have filler in them around the bottom of the toilet area and along towards the cab where the crew valve is. A lot of bubbling under the paint is also very noticeable around the same area.

Could this be connected with their regular exposure to damp, salty air on the Cumbrian and Durham Coast lines?

Possibly? It may contribute. Their age is certainly a major factor. However the 158s are only about 3 years older and don't seem to suffer corrosion on the lower bodyside.

158’s are younger than 156’s and made of Aluminium so shouldn’t corrode.
