From what I have read on these forums so may not be correct:How many days off in a row drivers at Avanti tend to get?
Try link non-technical skills required for train driver to your previous/current job roles or interests. Download the Avanti career prospectus as it tells you a bit about writing your CV i.e. how many pages etc.Hi, wondering if anyone could help with info on what best to put in a cv for applying for trainee driver with avanti ? Thanks in advance
Avanti might not even ask for you CV because this time around they didn't. That's not to say it will hurt including one, but all I would suggest is keep it relevant and quick to read if you do include one. With thousands of applicants for any one vacancy I have no doubt that they will want as little time spent going over each application as possible depending on whose doing the sifts.Hi, wondering if anyone could help with info on what best to put in a cv for applying for trainee driver with avanti ? Thanks in advance
You do not require a driving license. The conditions are that you need to be able to get to work without public transport, which could mean anything from walking, cycling, or even parkour theoretically. As long as you can get to work at unsocial hours you should be fine with Avanti.Hi, I'm new to the group. I'm looking for some advice on Avanti's recruitment process. Does anyone know if you require a clean driving licence? I have two minor speeding offences (6 points in total). Many thanks
NoDid anyone actually get asked for a CV at any point in the process?
I thought you could attach a CV to the application, could have sworn I did. I thought it gave you the option to type in details or upload CV for job history. Maybe I'm remembering something else. Although, I could have sworn I was going to miss the deadline and then I spotted the upload CV option and just did that and it saved me having to type a load of info in.
I'm pretty sure the only changes will be in management positions. It may delay the recruitment for bit but otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. They've already spent the time and money putting people through the process so it wouldn't be in their interest to put that all to waste.I’ve read reports today that RMT want Avanti’s contract terminating. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but if it were to does anyone know what would happen to those of us who are in the talent bank?
Sweeping it under the rug won’t make it go awayLet's try not to think about that![]()
This is what I’m hoping if it does come to anything. I just wondered if anyone had any inside info on the topicI'm pretty sure the only changes will be in management positions. I know, but there's sweeping things under the rug and not worrying about things you have no control over.Sweeping it under the rug won’t make it go away

No I’m only joking it is what it is. I just wondered what people’s thoughts were on it that’s all. Hopefully a positive outcome anywayI know, but there's sweeping things under the rug and not worrying about things you have no control over.
I think either Avanti will speed up their process and start moving things forward showing that they are taking positive steps to improve quickly.
Or
If another company does take over it will need the extra drivers anyway to improve services so it would be silly to waste candidates that have gone through the process......but you never know.
I know, it would just be a shame getting so far. Although we probably wouldn't be in the talent bank in the first place if Avanti weren't having issues and needing to recruit so let's just hope it goes our wayNo I’m only joking it is what it is. No. It’d still have to be 6 months. I guess it’d depend how long it’d take for you to get through to that stage of the application.Does anyone know can apply for Avanti within 6 months of failing a MMI?
Figured so, thanks.No. It’d still have to be 6 months. I guess it’d depend how long it’d take for you to get through to that stage of the application.
Type psychometrics, CBI, DMI on here. There’s plenty of infoCan anyone point me in the right direction of what sort of questions to expect in the application?
Thanks for your reply, I was thinking more along the lines of the questions in the application it’s self. The only reason I’m asking in advance is that I know these opportunities aren’t open for very long, so I want to make sure I’m prepared.Type psychometrics, CBI, DMI on here. There’s plenty of info
The only one I remember is: Why do you want to work for Avanti? Thanks for your reply, I was thinking more along the lines of the questions in the application it’s self. Thank you. I take it that it was just a case of uploading your CV after that? The only one I remember is: Why do you want to work for Avanti?
Mandatory fields are personal details about you and why you want to work for Avanti. Everything else was largely optional. As for CVs, as I have mentioned, you can get away with not having one. In this particular application at the time of starting the thread, it told us what details were needed, and they weren't particularly difficult questions, so if the next recruitment drive is anything like this one was then you have nothing to worry about.Thank you. I take it that it was just a case of uploading your CV after that?
But WHY do we all want to work for avanti? That is the real question....The only one I remember is: Why do you want to work for Avanti?
Maybe some of the successful applicants could share what they wrote??But WHY do we all want to work for avanti? That is the real question....ahha... Its a tough one since its common knowledge they have been struggling with the workload.
Read the career prospectus and research the company. You'll find plenty of stuff in there.Maybe some of the successful applicants could share what they wrote??
