To practice Atavt test I used Google map street view to find some busy junctions in cities and printed them off, my wife held them up for a few seconds and I wrote down if a remembered cars/pedestrians/traffic lights etc
The Bourdon test us easy to practice (loads of material out there for free)
The other tests I used the practice material I was sent!
None of them are particularly difficult, the thing to remember is…. This is a job you need to stay level headed and calm, the tests are as much about how you deal with pressure and how you recover from mistakes as it is about the task your doing!!

I had an email a while ago saying I was in the talent pool due to lots of applications.
More recently I had an email off opc asking me to do an m7sjt and a vse test.
I have cometed them today.

What does it mean that I've been asked to do it and what happens next?

Just medical to go isn't it? I'm assuming that there's also no guarantee of that as they must have a target number of people needed for each depot. So many unknowns.

Sorry, I meant numbers as in number if spaces on course Vs numbers passing psychometric testing. Guess they have a target.

Usually if you’ve been given a medical date, the job is yours pending it’s success.

Had an email last Friday asking me for an up to date CV, confirmation of notice period and asking for uniform sizes. Has anyone else had this? Does say they will be in touch for references, just wondered if everyone else had received the same?

Hi Matt, yes got the same of Friday. I've not heard anything since, guess they're allocating courses etc once they know who they have.

Fingers crossed we hear soon.

Could be. That would certainly make sense. There are probably more people taking psychometric tests so may be waiting on those results. Mine was last Wednesday, yours before then?

My questions are, a) I thought dmi was coming before psychometrics with this recruitment?
b) Crewe is a fair distance from me (Hampshire) do the OPC not test more local?

That sounds very odd.

Freightliner have been doing DMI first then use OPC Watford for the psychometric after. Sounds like it would be worth a phone call.

When I joined Freightliner I travelled to Crewe from the Isle of Wight. If you want the job you jump through as many hoops as is necessary, even if it means a long car journey. Trust me it's worth it 8n the end.

Now that they have gotten a lot of the recruitment out of the way and there are psychometrics being booked it could just be easier for them to place you in one of those groups and then interview you if you are successful

When I joined Freightliner I travelled to Crewe from the Isle of Wight. If you want the job you jump through as many hoops as is necessary, even if it means a long car journey. Trust me it's worth it 8n the end.

I had to come back from holiday for a day, leaving the family at 2am, in order to attend. Jump through every hoop, just secure that place. The competition is so strong, they will just push you to the back of the queue.

When I was at OPC Watford, there was a fella from Crewe there!

You'd have thought that he'd been tested there if was an option!

Yes, I had that email on Thursday last week. I had my DMI on the Tuesday, so got a quick response to find out that I had passed that.
Although this did all spring up from me passing all of my tests and being in the talent pool for over 3 years
We shall see what we hear on potential course dates ‍♂️

3 years.. that’s a hell of a wait! Hopefully we aren’t waiting that long! Just out of interest did you apply with any other TOCs or FOCs having passed the assessments?

Yeah I know!! Was getting the odd check in call from them to see if I was still interested, but that soon stopped so I guessed that was done with tbh!!
I did apply to a couple at the time that were near enough for me to stand a chance with, but never got passed the sift on those. Then life/covid got in the way!

I’ve been lucky enough to be invited for testing in Crewe early March. Upon reading the email, it only appears to be partial testing, not all the tests appear to be on the email, anyone else had this?
