Just noticed on the TfL website that Southall Station ticket office now has reduced opening hours "to protect staff and customers". I don't see it. The risk is no greater in the late evening than it is during the day. IMHO train companies including TfL are using the current situation as a handy excuse to reduce ticket office opening hours. The average ticket seller can deal with passengers quickly and efficiently so they move away either down onto the platform or out the door fairly quickly which seems preferable to people milling around queueing for and then trying to figure out the TVM.
