some of its current 27 B9TLs to be transferred to Metrobus for use on the 420, due to the current OmniCity DDs not complying with London ULEZ.
Yes, 6 of them, B&H 480-485 will become 6901-6906, with 480 already in livery and transferred to Crawley (BJ63UJH).

That might also most likely mean the withdrawal of the final Metrobus Omnidekkas still in service: 6938 and 6939. But to avoid going off topic I'll stop right there lol

I have moved the discussion about dual-door buses to this thread:

Ex-Scania OmniCity 55 (YN 58 BCU) now at Cymru Coaches had a window smashed on rail replacement at Radyr on Sunday night.

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.
Brighton & Hove 480 now in Metrobus colours having been repainted and refurbished.

The new route 1/1A buses are numbered 331-354 and most have been named, but are currently sporting a new variant of the Live and Breathe livery: Above & Beyond. There are no photographs on the side of the buses at present, with a local competition currently being held to fill those empty slots with pictures and stories of local people who have made a huge difference in Brighton & Hove.

Most route 1/1A Streetdecks are now unbranded and are slowly to be reallocated to route 27 but introduction of the new buses may be slow as a result of the fresh lockdown.

Arriva London HW100 (micro-hybrid Streetdeck) is also at Conway Street pending a trial on route 7 between Brighton Marina and Hove, George Street. The bus has logos applied but still in Transport for London Red.

480 and 481 have both transferred to Crawley, both repainted and refurbished. HW100 is now in service, numbered 705, with permanent blinds for route 7. it's not there as a demonstrator, it's there replacing a streetdeck (I believe 854 or 812) that needs a new engine. it'll be with B&H for 3 months or so.

Are they planning on gradually phasing out the red/cream livery on future orders going forward or is the blue/turquoise scheme on routes 1 and 5 just a marketing tool as electric is currently the new “thing” (like the original Stagecoach hybrid livery for example).

The previous pink/orange metro branding made them easier to differentiate on the street but now the generic scheme doesn’t.

This was something I was thinking as well, because a lot of their new marketing also has the blue colour scheme. I think it's just for these buses because a lot of other buses in the fleet have been repainted into the standard livery since the MMCs were introduced. I do agree, the loss of route branding isn't ideal despite how much I do like the blue livery.

809 is at Lewes Road, unbranded, sighted on the 24 and 26 Hollingbury circuit....

And here is said bus on the 24 this evening, Thomas Tilling 809.

The picture is of unbranded Wright Streetdeck in default BH4 livery on route 24 at Churchill Square.

Correction from what I said earlier - 705 is actually at Whitehawk and not Conway Street.

The new route 1 buses started entering service last week and a handful are now in service. Route 14 to restart a few daytime Newhaven journeys, I imagine for operational reasons but the hourly service to Newhaven, Sainsburys doesn't seem to be returning just yet.

According to a comment seen on Flickr, there are 30 Enviro 400 hybrids on order for the 5/5A/5B. Does anyone know any more on this? If this is true, it's interesting that these buses aren't from Wright.
If you checked the official fleet list, read further up this thread or googled you see that not have these been introduced several months ago, but that another batch is being released now for service 1/1A ;)

Taken today is ex Brighton & Hove 481 (BJ63 UJK) and 480 (BJ63 UJH) looking smart in their new livery. These will be/are dedicated to route 420.

I am aware of this (my comment is from February last year!) :D
Great to see a picture of the Volvos in their new livery, they suit it very well.

They look incredibly smart, I must say! A few more or their siblings have been decommissioned from Brighton & Hove and are making their way to Metrobus.

801 - 808 are now settling in on the 27, their new home.

809 - 824 are now all at Lewes Road and are allocated to the 24, 26 and 46.

453 - 472 (ignoring a few 46x buses) have made it to Whitehawk in return and are now on the 21, 21A, 23 and the school routes. Some are temporarily on the 1 and 1A until all of the new Enviro 400ER buses come into service, where I believe some will then go to Hove to send off the remaining Scanias there.

671 - 684 are now, and have been for a while, mostly confined to the 18, 22, 48 and 50 plus the LR school routes.

685 - 688 are on long term loan to other companies in the Go-Ahead group but it is unlikely they will come back to Brighton.

Does anyone know what 418 and 419 (Brighton Fun Bus and Paddle Round The Pier Bus) are doing at Lewes Road? They came over during the summer and they mostly do the 24/26 but surely with the Streetdecks they're rendered moot? Does anyone also know what will happen with the three N94 Dekkas that are allocated to the Breeze routes?

685-688 were there but are now at Go North East.
From what I can gather, these won't be part of the batch going to Plymouth. I'm not sure though
Here's proof:

I wonder whether they are for Plymouth City or Cornwall? That operation had been heading towards mainly Enviro operations.

They will have to be Euro 5 to be for TFC.

629 633-636 643 645 648 649 665 are now all in Plymouth

Saw a Streetdeck on the 77 yesterday, what a strange sight.... Wonder how it coped going to Devil's Dyke!

Christmas bus times confirmed, very similar to last year.

Boxing day buses are back again running from around 0800 to 1800. No service on route 2 east of the Old Steine or west of Shoreham apart for two journeys a day, routes 12X, 13X, 23, 24, 29 and 46.

Route 22B will cover for route 2 around Woodingdean (normal 22 but via Rudyard Avenue and Kipling Road in Woodingdean to Cowley Drive then returns as normal 22 to Churchill Square).

Route 26 will cover for routes 24 and 46 between Churchill Square, Hollingbury and operating in a one way hourly clockwise loop in Coldean Village (i.e. From Old Boat Corner, down to Forest Road and then all stops to Saunders Hill and back to Old Boat Corner). Route 46 will be covered by routes 2 and 49 around Portslade area (no changes to either route but passengers will have to use those as alternatives and walk).

Route 25 to not run to Universities as usual but instead to Falmer Station non stop from Coldean Lane and return, strictly staying on the Lewes Road.

Route 13 is returning for another year (hurrah!) for an hourly service via Birling Gap and Beachy Head between Brighton Station and Eastbourne Station. It's a very popular route, I hope B&H look into running it or 13X more often during the winter months. I used the 13X yesterday and was really well used throughout and I can imagine would be better used if it was more than every 3 hours one day a week.

Anyone know what's happening to 487 and 488? The fleetlist reports that they are not in any depot. So are they also going to Metrobus, or will they stay in B&H?

And apparently, someone on YouTube said that one of the B&H Geminis is going to Arriva Kent Thameside. I have a feeling that this might be 487 or 488 if it was true.

Really? Sounds a bit unlikely in my opinion, then again ASC do have a track record of acquiring second hand buses.

Surprised B&H aren't holding onto them as spares or to let off another Scania?

488 is still out and about on the 27, or certainly was on the weekend anyway! Haven't seen 487 for months.

Yes, 817 was on it on Saturday!

On another note, even with 331-354 arriving for the 1/1A, there clearly must be a shortage as a lot of other Streetdecks (most notably the ones branded for the 7) were regularly turning up on the 1/1A. Also, are any of the hybrid Geminis for the 2 (442-452) out of service at the moment, because the 2 was very much diesel based over the weekend!

The Scanias are very much on their last legs in Brighton now!
