"1st" and "2nd" stations, which I tend to dread; but -- hoping that it "counts": Moreton (1st)

I have no previous knowledge of the abovementioned 1st station above....can you furnish its location to the currently open station, plus the opening and closing dates.

I had assumed that we would now be taking the GWR Shipston-on-Stour branch line.

We are so doing, according to my -- probably flawed -- information: from a certain rogue atlas-compiler with surname initial D, who shows -- just on the branch after diverging from the main line -- a closed station "Moreton (1st)", in red, indicating "closed before 1901". That's all the gen I have, or am likely to have: should you give it the "thumbs down", last valid post will have been your Blockley, if I have things rightly.

Shipston-on-Stour -- journey's end

INFORMATION
The currently open station of Moreton-in-Marsh was opened on 4th June 1853 by the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway. I still cannot trace a station that closed prior to 1853.

As I'm forever admonishing myself: "I must not blindly take as true, stuff from Dewick's Complete Atlas of Railway Station Names, without checking it against another source !"
