47616 on Maryport Town Services today... The '08 solos seem to be popping up more and more often here... although this particular one (and the other IIRC) needs paint on the o/s rear... you can also see where TAPE has been used to hold a rear light cluster in at some point!!! Also noted the engine sounds quite rattly!

These must have had a hard two years!!

Last time I saw AA operate a 35 they used their S reg coach type vario, where the passengers have to open and close the door themselves, not ideal for stage carriage work IMO!
The worst vehicle I have seen on stage carriage so far has to be Rosies travel's G reg merc, again with "van" entrance doors, it looks like a death trap!!

Yes, I have had many bright-tech's freeze on me mid change due to switching off the engine, thankfully our depot seems to be phasing them out, slowly but surely! I'm hoping that the T reg darts coming up from Kendal will be fitted with LED's instead of their present bright-tech's!

The old G reg of Rosies is still on the road in Newcastle. I travelled on her everyday on the 217 service, agreed the slam door was not perfect but the driver who was always on that service opened it for you. They got it from AA travel not Ratcliff,s.

Yesterday 18359 & 18372 were showing "555 Keswick" on the front, whilst 18357 was showing "Keswick 555" on the front, when in Lancaster.;)

I am suprised that DallamLad or MBonwick did not notice that Travellers were using the 10-metre long Solo (CX55 DWK) on 8A's in the afternoon.

Rosies have handed back the 222 Service. This is now operated by John Hoban, who are using MX55 HXS (16 Seat Merc Sprinter).

In other news, the lack of minis for town services continues!
34616 on 51, and 20901 on 47.
20129 on short 300's with a dead display

Reason I didn't notice was because I spent slightly too long socialising with LGGS friends in town, and as a result only just made the 1620 556 home!

Just seen 18355 showing "Lancaster 555". The numbers were a little bigger then the small case font.

Also the front blind on 22822 is out of order.

I suppose....Travellers could do with another Solo really, to act as a spare when any of the regulars is broken.

Just to add to this:
52628 on because a Profile (probably) on a day trip to Blackpool.
33169 was on Seaton, but was replaced by 34079 which was in turn replaced by 20129.
Bus allocation and swapping on Moorclose was verging on Musical Buses!

I was meaning to let you know, but there should be a Chorley based vehicle in Carlisle today with the Ribble Enthusiasts Club visit. If anyone sees it I would be interested to know if they have used a Scania. I couldn't make the trip myself this time due to the situation at home.

They use lo-liners on sundays and sometimes during the week on the X1, so could be a possibility.

Yeah your right I suppose it depends on how many people they think will use it generally. I think in the morning it will be very popular.

Kendal's new fonts look like:
Keswick 555 with the K and 555 being in a larger font. The "eswick" part is in the middle of the K.

I'll grab a picture next week to demonstrate.
