That is it for the remainder of the day (there is a service from Woking to Alton 45 minutes later but it's set down only), so we stop off overnight and return for the 0549 South Western Railway service 1A12 to Woking, arriving there at 0618 on Friday morning.

We leave the station and walk the half mile to the Carisbrooke Way bus stop. There, we board the 11:52 MoreBus route X2 service to Christchurch Town Centre, arriving there at 12:15 on a Friday.

Feeling adventurous, and taking advantage of the lovely local scenery, we take the 0.4 miles walk to the Town Quay (on Quay Road), where we board a Bornmouth Boating United Ferry Services ferry to Hengistbury Head. There is no actual timetable, but it runs roughly every half hour in the summer and takes 40 mins, so we'll assume we get there by 13:40 Friday afternoon.

Onward journey opportunity if people wish: http://www.mudefordferry.co.uk/ :)

Edit: Timings

This is a tricky one as whilst the ferry runs every fifteen minutes between 10am-6pm, there isn't a timetable. We can't just assume it runs at 1000, 1015, 1030 etc but equally I don't just want to make a time up. It also doesn't state journey times. Think we need to move away from the marine transport modes

Assuming the walk takes us 10 minutes, that puts us at the ferry at 12:25. Counting Tue 5 minute interchange time, that brings us to 12:30. Even if a boat departs at 12:29, the latest would then depart at 12:44. Adding 40 minutes to that brings us to 13:24. Round to 13:30.

Sorry, I knew my move was a bit 'interesting' but I wanted to go to the beach :)! We took the Bournmouth Boating United Ferry Services boat, which runs roughly half-hourly in summer, and so 10 mins walk + max 30 mins + 40 mins ride = 80 mins. I've just realised I allowed 75, so I'll adjust out arrival time to 13:40 to fix that.

The website linked to in my post above (the Mudeford Ferry) operates a ferry from Hengistbury Head (where we currently are) to Mudeford Quay, where we could then walk to get the bus on Chichester Way. Hope this helps clear things up a bit :).
