Received THIRD email, unfortunately I’ve not a Driver psychometric. Successfully completed Guard psychometric. As per email I cannot reply ✌

I'm guessing we've all passed the SJT then? I'm sure they wouldn't be going to this much trouble e-mailing us about psychometric tests if we hadn't?

I'd be more inclined to say it's so they can save themselves checking! Or sifting in general. Get the numbers down nice and quick if quite a few applicants have already passed.

I've passed my psychometric, does anyone know if greater anglia use enhanced or standard pass?

I have passed all tests to advanced where applicable so I just emailed back with “I have passed all the tests.”

There was a post someone made a while ago with all the enhanced rate TOCs but the thread escapes me.

I guess that is the case, I think I am going to forget about this one, as I hope to be offered a place training as guard, in which case I would give 100 percent in becoming a Guard. Good luck everyone

For those that have completed psychometric tests, did you get any certificate or proof of passing? If they send a blanket email out to applicants asking for those that passed the tests to reply, whats to stop someone who hasn't passed them replying saying they have?

You don’t get a certificate. They are held on a database correlated with your national insurance number.

If you haven't done it then they will invite you to take them (If you've passed the sift until then). GA are only asking because the psychometric test results are valid for roughly 2 years by most TOCs (despite OPC saying it lasts for 5 years) and if you've done them and passed within that timeframe to the TOCs standard, you don't need to do them again.

The Ex WAGN side has always had the lowest pay I think? Indeed lower than any other London area TOC

Why not advertise qualifieds for all depots. Stortford and Cambridge are always after trainees but Colchester Clacton and Norwich mainline is incredibly rare.. I guess those depots would take qualifieds too

We may not be paid as much. But we have the BEST terms and conditions

Whilst in a KL restroom, we had an ex Stortford guy talking of them harmonising the pay to at least 60k, I guess that didn't work out?

I'm surprised they're not looking for depot drivers on the GE side as I thought that's what everyone starts on when on the GE/Anglia side.

Loss of all West Anglia T&Cs and nothing positive.

The base pay will go up to mid 60k December 2022. But there are some drivers who earn more now with overtime.

Yesterday I sent out an email asking if applicants have previously completed the "Driver Psychometric Test". I just wanted to clarify as alot of the replies were from people who were concerned that they are missing an assessment. The online assessment that you all have completed and the Driver Psychometric Test are 2 different tests, the only test you would have completed thus far in the process would be the online assessment. The email yesterday was to gather the names of those who have previously taken the driver psychometric test so we could check their names through a national database. I hope this clears up any issues any of you had regarding yesterdays email.

I would appreciate if you didn't reply to this email as I have done my best explaining the situation. If you have any queries please go through the regular channels.

I was just looking at this. The mentioned salary, is that the trainee salary? Any idea what qualified salary will be as this will be taking a pretty large pay cut if I go for it

£30k is quite a bit lower than any mainline drivers get. That would be more typical of a trainee salary.

Fully qualified drivers are generally in the £50s with a few over £60k (or will be very shortly on current pay deals). Crossrail, TL, ARL, GTR are all in this bracket.

From memory Scotrail is the poorest paying TOC at around £45k.

I can only speak from my own experience but at Bishop's Stortford, the trainee rate is around £27,000. After you qualify it raises to £35,000 and then after 1 year qualified it raises to the £50,000 we're on now.

Wow that seems very low indeed. So your first year with a key would be at £35k? That’s a bit cheeky.

My TOC’s first year rate is mid 40s, quite a few TOCs no longer have a first year rate and go straight to full money once qualified.

Think they are the lowest paid if not one of the lowest paying tocs that operate out of London, don't know what their t&c are like tho.

I know people say railway recruitment is difficult but greater Anglia are clowns.

I hope it works out well for you guys and good luck but word of warning for a previous recruitment drive I applied got through and then told them I had enhanced passes they emailed and said I would get a DMI and then nothing wouldn't reply to emails and when I called someone was "always going to get back to me" in the end I told them not to bother and I qualified with someone else.

So good luck but keep a level head until your contract arrives.
