The current 1P14 TPE arrival from MIA at 10:11 is retimed to arrive at 10:39 and head coded as 1P65. It is a service that I have used previously to connect onto the Whitby train as I believe others have. Would this issue stop it from being uploaded i.e. will the Whitby departure at 10:30 or thereabouts need to be retimed to leave later?

Interestingly the May Whitby Middlesbrough that currently forms it is shown direct into platform 2 rather than platform 1 & shunt, but as 1P65 is booked into platform 2, with another just behind it, it might be difficult to provide a connection. Might be as well going via Darlington.
Really, Stoke to Blackpool? First I've heard of it. It would make sense to extend the proposed Macclesfield service to an area with 400,000 preople, in place of the hourly Piccadilly-Stoke. I'm not sure how much scope there is for an increase on the current 5 tph on the line without upsetting Virgin or XC?
Just looking at the SE timetable and one thing they've done is slow the 'fast' service from Dover Priory to Victoria via Denmark Hill by 10 minutes (suggesting 20 mins from Bromley South to Denmark Hill non-stop). Think it's due to bad coordination with Thameslink trains but it does seem like some SE passengers will suffer.

Virgin and XC have half of their services daily which skip macclesfield so know why it would 'upset'' them if northern provided an extra train to call at macclesfield.

Looking at the new Cumbrian Coast Sunday service on RealTrainTimes it seems that the first two northbound trains of the day start at the rather odd location of Carnforth (0850 and 1013), rather than Lancaster. Is this a temporary arrangement due to engineering works between Lancaster and Carnforth I wonder? Even more annoying is the fact that the first train of the day into Carnforth from Leeds arrives in Carnforth at 1014, missing the connection to the Cumbrian Coast by 1 minute. My hopes of finally being able to the train from West Yorkshire for a day's walking in the West Lakes on a Sunday seem to have been dashed.Confused147

About the new Blackpool services from Macclesfield, according to realtime trains they are arriving at Macclesfield xx:45 and departing again at xx:50 which gives just 5 minutes to turn around. I can almost see the delays and problems this will have over the long term.

Not as far as I can tell. I want to find out how the 4tph on the Catford loop will be spaced (in the consultation timetable they were at 10/20/10/20 minute intervals).
I noticed two services in the morning and two in the evening from Stalybridge to Guide Bridge, and two in the morning and one in the evening from Guide Bridge to Stalybridge.
It has been in the draft timetables for quite some time, as a Sunday service. i.e. it is a replacement for the current, dreadful, stopping service to Stoke-on-Trent on Sundays. It looks like approx 2 hourly rather than 5 services per day.
Seperately, it would appear that Disley will gain 2 services per hour to Manchester (as well as Hazel Grove, New Mills and Buxton). This is excellent news and could scarcely be more different from the cut in these services that was originally proposed and discussed at length here. Buxton will gain 2tph all day, which is also pretty incredible improvement. Some trains will be several minutes quicker too.

What is interesting is the Macclesfield to Blackpool services call at Adlington twice first Adlington Cheshire then Adlington Lancs

The good citizens of Tameside (Stalybridge et al) really get the mucky end of the stick. We have historically had direct services eastwards to at least York, but no more with this shambles- Journey time improvements are meaningless if your options are to spend an hour extra going west to Piccadilly to come back non stop and wave at yourself! Going east its all shacks to Huddersfield and then a further draughty wait there! Customer service this ain't!
Or two stops to Huddersfield with a train every 30mins and an 8minute wait at Huddersfield.
I think that may be a first!

Indeed and the XC will be right behind it and one could delay the other and so on.
Also of note 2 x CrossCountry trains per hour to stop at Macclesfield from May.
The Stoke-Blackpool is Mornings, Evenings and Sunday only, not Off Peak.

is just an unacceptable strategy in today's passenger market -especially when those journeys have been an automatic choice for generations - typical railway - sod the customer - it's our precious schedules that take preference!
It all comes back to the DfT's insistence on 2tph from York to both Liverpool and Manchester Airport. Exactly the same reasons that Hull's service to Leeds and Manchester gets ridiculously downgraded.
There are winners and losers in any set of changes, moaning about hour journeys via Piccadilly or all shacks stoppers to Huddersfield doesn't gain you any sympathy.
I was thinking more about stoppers possibly getting in the way.
Yes, I've seeen that now. Almost first & last train of the day from Stoke, but no Blackpool-Stoke journeys except Sunday. Still feels like a missed opportunity, makes more sense to extend the short hop from Macclesfield, to a much bigger catchment area, even at the loss of the Piccadilly-Stoke service.

Ive also noticed 323s are no longer working any of the Crewe to Manchester via Stockport or Airport stoppers and are all replaced with 319s and Diesels doing now the Alderley Edge stoppers, so does anyone know where will those 323s be going !

There are a couple of new diagrams; Macclesfield to Blackpool and Hazel Grove to Manchester. The Stoke and Hadfield ones remain. I think this is because they will become 331's and have better performance on a tight timetable.

But how much of this will now be occurring? Can't 319s be towed by a 67 or 68 in the meantime to still free up diesels and transform all 2-car services into 4-car?
We don't really know yet and won't until 12 weeks before the start of the new timetable. TPE are supposed to still be introducing their new timetable as planned therefore Northerns timetable will be some sort of fudge that works around it with very limited units and that allows new services to be added as 769s arrive and or electrification completes. The full timetable changes will not be possible to introduce until December.
Northern drivers are not trained on locos, DRS drivers won't have route knowledge, 67s or 68s may not be compatible with 319s wiring, they would need to find 16 locos + spares to run Blackpool / Preston to Manchester Airport / Hazel Grove and two locos hauling a 319 would be expensive.

You're forgetting what services are timed for doesn't automatically mean that type of traction will be used.
Northern have planned to use 323s on Macclesfield to Blackpool, as well as keeping them on all Stoke and Glossop services. The Alderley Edge services are supposed to get 769s (319s with a diesel engine added) so they can run to Wigan via Bolton despite the wiring not being completed but will get 150s along 769s and presumably if there is a shortage of usable 769s then 150s will be used to fill in.
The Crewe-Airport-Piccadilly service will be extended to run to Lime Street via Chat Moss, it will also be interworked with the Crewe-Stockport-Manchester service. From what's been reported both 319s and 323s will be used but 319s have inferior acceleration so the services being timed for 319s doesn't mean using 323s won't work.

The May timetable changes come into use from Sun 20 May and its still over 4 weeks until we get to the 12 week cut off date on Sun 25 Feb , so plenty of time for changes.
Yes I noticed that the Man Airport to Scotland are down to be worked by class 506 EMUs, which, having googled the class , were the old units that worked Manchester / Glossop / Hadfield / Sheffield through the Woodhead Tunnel. !
I see the fastest are timed to do an impressive 35 mins Man Picc to Preston ( my local on WCML) via Bolton.
