Were you? I might have seen you then! I was on the 1433 555 back south from Keswick.

Barrow send pretty much anything out on the 618, just today it was a Solo. Bit like the 755, which incidentally was in the hands of 16657 this morning.

16335, 18278, 18279 on X35's.
33164, 33166, 34217, & 47055 on Town Services. (33164 blowing black smoke, & 47055 sounded rough).
47056 had a lean to left when it depart Kendal on the 505 to Consiton.
16657 did the morning & afternoon 755, did not see the early evening one.
20778 on the 736 Ulverston - Kendal college service.
33173 on 567 Kirkby Lonsdale about lunch time.

I'm sure there was something else, but i'm suffering from too much sun !!!!!!!

That bit about the 618 isn't quite true. The literature says low floor buses will be used where possible. Otherwise its a 709d. Basically, there aren't yet enough Solos and still too many 709ds for it to be low floor full time. I don't think B10s are used on this route.

Hi hopefully B10Ms will be used on 618 in school hols if there anoth jue to how many they carry a solo will be too small for the route coz sum last year were leaving barrow with standing and you are not aloud standing on a route in on a national speed limit road

I didn't know that...that means that today's 555 was illegal as this was FULL (every single seat on the bus taken) and standing all the way from Kendal to Windermere.

Thanks, you just reminded me what at was that i was trying to remember last night. That was the late running 1040 departure from Kendal to Keswick left about 30 intending passengers behind due to it being full, went it got in from Lancaster. Being the 0930 from Lancaster it was full of freebies (NowCards).

The 755, does not appear to be as buzy this year, as last year. Expect Wednesdays & Fridays, when it is Market days in Kendal. A couple weeks ago Stagecoach Morecambe, used a single decker on these days, instead of the normal double decker.

That was the bus I was on! It was busy, but not too bad at Milnthorpe, but by the time it got to Kendal it was rather busy and then when it left it was totally full.

Were you by any chance driving the Princess service that went past as the bus was loading?

Ive certainly never heard of standees being prohibited on national speed limit roads, and wasnt made aware of any such rule when I was a driver. Standees are common on busy 40/41 services in the peaks between Lancaster and Preston, however standees were illegal on Motorways. I have found this legislation that includes standees on page 7 section 43A that says 'long distance scheduled service' what defines long distance isnt mentioned though......

http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LEGISLTN/SLS/1997/97SL396.pdf

Only the one sighting today from me was 16657 on the 42X University-Sainsburys shuttle service showing 'Private Hire'

Re the 618 - even if it is legal for there to be standees on it, I doubt very much that it is a pleasurable experience travelling along the road that runs along the eastern side of Winderemere if you are stood up in a 709d or a Solo for that matter. Purely from a customer satisfaction point of view I imagine Stagecoach would want to use something that allowed everyone to sit down.

Thats always the dream but a 709D isnt pleasurable sitting or standing!

Yes, that was me:D for my sins.

16331, 16339, 18278 were on X35's
21003 was on the 755 (once again a single decker on Market day!)
Town services had the following buses at some time during the day :- 33164, 33165, 33166, 33170, 34217 (later it was on 552's), 47055 (still sounding rough), 47057 until about 9am. 20710 did a couple of trips before the afternoon D3.

quite a lot of B10M's flying around to NW region then! i wonder if they're for further service or just storage
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
33167, 33168 and 34079 on Harrington & Seaton.
33169 on Moorclose Circular 51.
47060 on Moorclose Circular 50.
16652 and 16734 both out on 300.
35248 on 31.
20768 been on annexe and then SL Ltd Contract.
14255 running around on staff shuttles showing "Sorry Not In Service". i noticed a sticker in this saying CCTV in operation, but there is no CCTV.
34079 has CCTV camera on rear that doesnt work anymore, all internal ones have been removed, with blanking plates put over the holes.

kneeling suspension is dodgey on 33169. was on it today, along with the other short darts. driver kneeled it, about a minute later, it creeped back up, so he kneeled it again, crept up again, kneeled again, then he just gave up and left it up!

30281 was around yesterday I think.

Had 20452 on the 2a just now and quite a nice ride I must day. Norfolk street is closed atm so buses have to dash round the upper side of Lancaster to reach Common Garden Street.

14196 failed in Carnforth this morning. A fitter came along and lifted its rear engine cover, filling it with some kind of liquid.

Coolant for 14196 I bet.

AFAIK 30281 is still around, I'm sure Gez would have mentioned if it had been withdrawn!

20131 is the only LED fitted B10M in Lancaster, unless another has been done since I last got the bus...

I saw 20734 parked on the annexe with steam pouring out from just beside the drivers window last week having just dropped off its last passengers from a SL ltd service. It pulled through the station and straight onto the annexe before letting people off. Havent seen it in a few days (might be a casualty of the R regs that are due).

What's that in aid of I wonder? Surely they can't be having problems already??

Oh, and the rest of the MANs should be arriving from Fife this weekend, and the Darts will be heading North as well.
