SNP hold Edinburgh North & Leith.

Certainly before Roxburgh and Kincardine were declared, Labour had a higher share of the vote than the Tories.

The Conservatives retain Aylesbury, returning David Lidington.
The Conservatives retain Surrey Southwest, returning...I don't even want to say his name.

Labour gain Lincoln! Majority of 1,538.
Lincoln is an excellent bellwether seat.

The Conservatives have just overtaken Labour by one seat. It seriously looks like the Tory gains in Scotland will win them a majority.

SNP not completely dead in any of their loss seats though. Still very much in contention for 2022. (Or October). If they lost the very marginal seats due to a poor turnout then those are easily regained.

Not a disaster then. The SNP surge of 2015 was always going to be temporary. The fact that they're comfortably holding on to 2nd in their lost seats confirms that there's a long term shift to the SNP that will be with us for the foreseeable.

Theresa May will be reconsidering her position this morning, undoubtedly. To voluntarily surrender a majority is a capital offence in the world of politics.

I'm happy that she's re-elected, lets hope the Beast Of Bolsover and the one in Bassetlaw retains their seats too - even if they are Labour.

Meanwhile in Wiltshire: Devizes, Wiltshire South West, Wiltshire North, Chippenham, Salisbury and Swindon North & South are retained by the Conservatives - Ooh yeah.

South Holland and The Deepings, again the Tories hold.
Middlesbrough South & Cleveland East - Tories gain from Labour.
