My mate spotted 800101 Virgin Azuma at 1140 at Maidenhead heading towards North Pole, he later spotted the same train in North Pole IEP Depot. I looked on realtime trains and found no such record of this train. However I did find out the return leg of last nights test runs from Paddington to Stoke Gifford only made it as far as Wantage Road. Is this related?

No. RTT is not an authoritative source of train running information.

Quite possibly, my guess is tonight's Stoke Gifford to Paddington run is 800003+800004.

Checking what actually ran, not RTTs snapshot -

(unknown unit) operating 5X83 02+40 Paddington - Stoke Gifford IEP. 12 Early Reading, 39 early Didcot, 35 early Stoke Gifford.

800101 worked a 5X70 10+23 Stoke Gifford IEP to North Pole IEP

For the sake of pedantry and completeness - RTT can only show stuff what appears in the public data feed. If it ain't included it won't be shown.

I am hoping 800101 shows up on tomorrows test service to Swindon, however today's was cancelled so may not look likely. I'll head down just in case.

The engine doesn't change, it's simply the software configuration of the Class 802s that means the engines will be running at full chat off the wires.

As D365 observes, same engines are fitted to all IEP derivatives - TransPennine and Hull Trains orders are both for 802s, so will have full-bore power at all times when using the diesels.

As post production work we are changing over engines. old come out new 700 goes in.
It's to do with MTU and adblue tank sizes. Bigger fuel tanks means bigger adblue which are in the GU rig.
New GUs are already done off site and the old GUs are done on site.

Also we had 91110 on tonight. Nice plaque for holding the current speed record in '89.

At Reading nice and early, however nothing is appearing on the diagrams for the IEP test run to Swindon today. North Pole is quiet, as usual.

Time to head to work me thinks.

Literally just as I posted that, an IEP appears on the diagram at North Pole....

UPDATE: It made it to the North Pole Exit line, then headed back into the depot. Obviously a problem with the unit(s). Won't be the first time either. Well it's cancelled throughout again.

What will be the journey time for the up Flying Scotsman assuming it will stop only at Newcastle once the new trains arrive?

Finally, will these be tested at Old Dalby/Asfordby?

The shells for GWR sets are most likely already built. Im sure all shells for 5 car gwr sets are in uk already.
