Do you mean one drawn from the general decker pool or is there a route-branded one like the saloons? I've seen a non-branded decker on a few occasions.

637 - i have always felt it would be good to link into the 515 2 busses it might actually be used from keynsham if a link was provided to some where like the retail park.

It certainly makes Burnett quite modest. I'd be surprised if they picked on First and Abus. However, you'd think that any new move would've been tied in with this shift of the 80s?

That'll certainly stir up things and Mr Abus will be none to happy with that. Maybe a Keynsham to Bath service, via Bath Spa uni?

Would be nice if that happened to 637. Wouldn't surprise me about Cityfox. I've seen Buglers bus around a couple of times, not on 672 - it's usually some ALX thing, the 58 plate E200 or some crappy minibus that looks like an ice cream van. I so hope they'll lose 672.

If wessex were going to attack first between Bristol and Keynsham they would not be ditching services with out a registration.

I do wonder if it has more to do with the routes being up for tender they would risk losing 7 drivers to another company and if they are struggling to cover uni work in Bath it would make sense to free drivers up for the more profitable work.

The 620 i believe is still being ran by Burnett

That was my point, Matt. You don't move services on one date and then submit a registration to introduce a new route for six weeks later unless you've a shortage of drivers.

I think it's the Uni routes plus the 20A/20C, 79 and the 620 - can't think of much else there now?

The 79 went to CT Coaches the Banes Part Faresaver 228 now covers Marshfield on the South Glos Part with one evening 79 back to Marshfield i believe ran by Faresaver.

I beleve Banes are currently reviewing funded services so the 20A/C could be at risk.

I really think some one could save Banes money if they combined the 20A/C - 42 together to provide a Park and Ride to Bath the Uni and the RUH could make a good little commercial service for some one. but you would need to look at a way of making the route not so long which may be of a disadvantage.

The question is who would run it Wessex, First or Abus or maybe RATP will want to branch out a little more?

When you see the 20s busses during UNI term times absolutely full i'm surprised why it could never be commercial i see it more these days as a Uni service Subsidised by the people of Banes i have always wanted to see First make a return of the service 8 they ran which was a reverse of the U10 it made such perfect sense and avoids town completely.

I'm not aware of any new commercial services being introduced at least, I 've recently asked the question after the UWE 12 (withdrawn) & UWE 13 (frequency reduced) at the end of last year which should have reduced the overall Pvr

637 is not being replaced. some of the wessex yate services are moving from be opaperated from avonmouth rather than keynsham. wessex keynsham also runs 12 in bath, but they are short of drivers so some services ar e to moving to avonmouth.

Hmmm I guess the money ran out. I wonder if First will do anything to replace it. But there again it is very well underused from what i've seen.

Well, they haven't indicated that they are going to close Burnett. There are three ways in which they could go:

• Run dead mileage from Avonmouth - about 25-30 miles each way
• Pull out altogether
• Simply remove the maintenance from Burnett (centralise at Avonmouth) and outbase vehicles in the yard

Remember that Burnett is not that expensive in terms of buildings (e.g. utilities, business rates etc) and that most is open parking in a shared compound. It could probably survive with just the Uni services

I thought they'd had maintenance at Burnett anyway? They had a bay in the place at LBR.

I confess that I don't see too much of the Uni services to accurately gauge how Wessex are doing against First. However, from the few anecdotal views I've had, I'd say that First are winning that battle.
