Clue 5: Train services to this station are significantly increased for the duration of a certain major annual sporting event. Despite this, during this time the trains are often still massively overcrowded.

Taking the floor

1) This station is south of the route taken by a journey from Holyhead to Scarborough, completed by changing at Shotton, Bidston and Liverpool Lime Street only, assuming that all services follow the regular routes.

I had to double-check on NRE to see if there were any trains off Holyhead which called at Shotton :p

(There's 2 for the record, the first departs 0514 and the 2nd at 2037.)

Yup, Ive had to use the 0514 before after takin a nap on a journey from Crewe to Chester and wajing up in Penmaenmawr.

5) This station, when printed on a ticket does not have a county suffix. However, this station makes it necessary to print a county to a similarly named station that is busier than this one.
