Stab in the dark but I'm going to try Middlesbrough, for no other reason than, the middle of something is usually half way along it, Captain James Cook was born somewhere near there (IIRC) and the ship he is famous for commanding was HM Bark Endeavour. It could be Tipton but I can't be sure. It certainly has TI (half time), PT ('sporting endeavour' in a way, but TRY meaning sporting endeavour would fit better) and ON (literal, but I was thinking of MORE or something similar).
