As far as I'm aware (well when I was applying) when you get to mangers interview you have to choose a specific depot as you will have an interview with managers from that depot, I'm not sure if that is still the case since change of companies. When I had my interview the people taking it became my driver managers. Before my interview I actually got told there were 8 people applying for Stortford and there were 4 places (knocked down to 2 places when I got the news) whether they still let you know again depends on the new company. Got my letter...I failed(
Even though I knew it was coming, I could t be anymore upset and angry at myself. I'm truly gutted
So sorry for you that you didn't make it this time. You're young though Ellie, so don't give up hope and I'm sure that you will make it through the interview next time now that you know what to expect. Good luck to you.
I'm still waiting to hear. No letter received yet and after missing a HR call on Friday I haven't been able to get hold of anyone in HR, which is a little frustrating. Has anyone else who attended the structured interview last week received written confirmation either way?

Paul, I had my assessment day on the 14th - and like you, didn't complete the reaction test due to their IT problems.

Hi Scotsman, I've also had a letter today also for the managers interview next week at the Cambridge depot. I applied though for Bishops Stortford and a second choice of Chingford. I'm wondering if this is then maybe because there are more vacancies at Cambridge. I'd did indicate on the phone call that I'd be prepared to go to Cambridge if that was the only option as I will be relocating but it was my 3rd choice. Where is yours?
Was your assessment day on the 2nd May?
Also I presume then if the interview is at a depot then they are only interviewing us for that depot. Does anyone know that's been through it?

To frank, I am willing to wait til they are ready. I am just glad that I made it through the application form sift and completed the tests (apart from reaction test).
Again I would like to wish the best of luck to those that are currently in the process... And for those that didn't make it this far to continue to chase their ambitions.
Anyone know what the rough numbers (vacancies) required are? Particularly for Stortford and Chingford?
I ask because there seems to be a very large number of people being offered assessments, not sure how many are making it through, but two weeks worth of assessments with an average of 20 candidates per day assuming around 5 people pass per assessment that would mean = 70 candidates still under consideration at structured interview stage? Sounds like a lot to me :-/

As far as I know there are only 12 vacancies according to GA.
On another note has anyone received a rejection email/ letter yet?
That sounds about right, and according to our DMs it looks like it will be..Cambridge 6, Stortford 3 Chingford 3 or something similar, Cambridge has the greatest requirement at the moment.

Yes, same letter. Good of them to keep us informed.
I also had a letter which was nice of them to let us know what's going on. I had at first thought it was to say all positions had been filled...! Though I notice it says structured interviews will be on a different day. We were told it would be the same day but i suppose if there's quite a few of us waiting to do the reactions... But it's still a long way to go just for a test and then go again for the interview (if we get that far!)

I missed the initial advert (I know where to look now). I will wait for the next round of recruitment, hopefully given that GA seem to be expanding there will be some more.
What was the training salary that they were advertising? Also, some of you mention a "fault finding test"; I just wonderd what type of format this takes?

Training salary is around the £25k mark
Had the train manager interview this morning. Always tough to know how well interviews go and this one was no different. The questions asked were not at all what I expected based on research on this and other sites, gave it my best shot all the same. I was told to expect an answer within one week. All the best to all those up for interviews.

When I successfully applied the railway was known as "One". It did take a long time to get through the whole process.
I wasn't on this forum then or any other so I wouldn't have known when other people had got letters or whatever. What I am saying is, if you haven't heard yet and others have, don't be downhearted! If you weren't on here, you wouldn't have known about anyone else and you wouldn't be half as stressed! Not saying I wasn't looking for the postman every day however! If you really are worried there is no harm in giving them a call. I did do that myself a couple of times.
I will also add that although they have said how many drivers they want and where, it doesn't mean that the number is still the same. I cannot give you an exact number as that's not my department but it does change. Don't panic that all the vacancies have been filled.
Those who aren't successful, ask for feedback. They are very helpful at the Academy despite being rather snowed under. You have to remember, there is one huge paper trail when comes to recruiting drivers. Everything has to be recorded and there is a lot of form filling and box ticking that you don't see, it does take time.
Hope that has put some of your minds at rest a little. Good luck to all, may get to wave at some of you on the iron road one day.

Was it quite friendly then? I believe its nothing like the structured interview?
